April Fools Weekend

Ok, weird last couple of days. Maybe not weird, but... yeah.

Thursday night was interesting - I caught up on last week's OC, did the ever-so-awkward stuff exchange (I hadn't realized how much stuff I had over there!), then proceeded to drink way more than necessary (or intended!) with Christina. I didn't feel the hangover until 9am the next morning. Needless to say, work was FUN.

I finally started feeling better around noon after a chicken sandwich. Remembering I'd already had plans to do Target Team Member happy hour, I made it through the rest of the workday and by 430pm, was feeling good enough for some Bloody's at Sally's. And beers at the new Library. And Red Bull vodka at Stub and Herbs. And whisky something at the Local. That took us to the Lodge. I HATE THE LODGE. HATE IT. And after this weekend, I can't say that's changed at all.

I spent Saturday being extremely lazy, staying in bed until noon, taking a nap at 4 and finally getting in gear to work at Stella's at 6. Slow night at the fish cafe and I was cut by 9:30. I stuck around for mojito (apparently Stella's are the best - and I have to agree - it was a pretty great Mojito!, thank you Katie!), and a quick dinner. I was going to go out on the town for Melissa's birthday, but started not feeling so great and was being really bothered by my eye that started feeling swollen and itchy.

Turns out I have pinkeye. I have not had pink eye since.... I don't know, I was little. I didn't know adults got pink eye. But yes, I have it and it looks like either I was crying all night out of my right eye only, or maybe like I got hit in the eye. =( The good news - or at least the irony of the situation and proof of my mother's belief that I have lived an absolutely charmed life - the irony is this. May 31, 2005 was the last day I had any kind of medical insurance whatsoever, the day I was no longer covered on my parents' insurance. Today, marks 'three full months of service and the first day of the next pay period' which means I have insurance that starts today. I love that I went (hang on let me count...) 10 months without any kind of medical mishap and the day I get insurance, I get pink eye. Well, I got prescription eye drops and was very excited about it.

Wow, my life really isn't that exciting is it? Christina and I made breakfast burritos this morning and then went down to River Oaks because we heard they opened the course yesterday. We got down there around 2 only to find out the pro shop had closed at noon, so we couldn't even get a bucket of range balls which is all we'd wanted to do today since it was raining somewhat anyway. So, we sat in the bar and had bloody mary's (thank you Nancy), and decided on our availability for the summer.

And here I am, waiting for Grey's Anatomy to start in about 15 minutes, hanging out with my cat, and thinking about cracking open a beer... any takers?
